About Dr. Elert
Dr. Elert is a board certified Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation physician (physiatrist). She attended medical school at the University of Minnesota Medical School in 2004, and completed her PM&R residency at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor in 2008. She carries three board certifications: the first in physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R), the second a subspecialty board in Brain Injury Medicine (BIM), and the third in electrodiagnostic medicine (EMG’s). She is passionate about spine, joint disorders, and general physiatry. She manages complex rehabilitation plans in persons with traumatic brain injury, stroke, and amputations, among other complex function-altering diagnoses. She also performs EMG’s, diagnostic tests of nerve and muscle. She is a trained medical acupuncturist, having completed the Integrative Structural Acupuncture course from the University of New England.
